Recovery Room Williamstown
The WHL Recovery Room brings together our infrared sauna and compression recovery boots in one private space, built to help you recover better between training, treatment and everyday life.
Recovery is where the real gains happen. Whether you are backing up between games, winding down after a heavy training block, or simply want thirty uninterrupted minutes where there is nowhere else you need to be, the Recovery Room is yours.
Sessions are privately booked, so you have the entire room to yourself for maximum comfort, relaxation and downtime.
Infrared Sauna
Unlike a traditional sauna that primarily heats the air around you, our infrared sauna uses infrared heat to warm the body directly. This allows you to enjoy the benefits of heat at a more comfortable temperature while still getting that beautiful post sauna feeling.
Regular infrared sauna and heat therapy may help support:
- Muscle relaxation and reduced tension
- Recovery after training and exercise
- Increased peripheral circulation and blood flow
- Temporary relief of muscular aches and stiffness
- Relaxation and stress reduction
- Improved feelings of wellbeing and sleep quality
The sauna comfortably fits two people, so you are very welcome to bring a partner, friend or training buddy along to your session.
Recovery Boots
Our compression recovery boots use sequential air compression to gently squeeze and release the legs from foot to hip, similar to a rhythmic sports massage.
Regular compression therapy may help support:
- Recovery after training, sport and long days on your feet
- Circulation and blood flow through the legs
- Temporary relief of tired, heavy or aching legs
- Reduced feelings of post exercise muscle soreness
Sit back, relax and let the boots do the work. Most people describe it as the most relaxing thirty minutes of their week.

What Should I Bring?
Keep it simple. Swimwear or comfortable activewear is ideal. You will have the room privately booked, so wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
We strongly recommend bringing your own towels: a large towel to sit on during your sauna and another to dry yourself afterwards. Forgotten yours? Towel hire is available for $5 per towel.
As we do not have shower facilities in the Recovery Room, allow yourself a few minutes after your sauna to cool down, towel off and change before leaving. Please arrive well hydrated and bring water with you.
A Few Things Before You Sauna
For the best experience, arrive hydrated and avoid a large meal immediately beforehand. If you are unwell, dehydrated or have consumed alcohol, give the sauna a miss that day.
If you are pregnant, have a cardiovascular or medical condition, have difficulty regulating body temperature, or take medication that may affect your response to heat, speak with your doctor before using the sauna.
And most importantly, listen to your body. You do not need to tough out a sauna session. If you feel dizzy, light headed, nauseous or uncomfortable, simply step out.
Before your first session we will ask you to complete a short health screening form covering anything that might affect your use of the sauna or the boots. Our team will go through it with you and let you know if anything needs a word with your doctor first.
We want this space to be somewhere you can recover, slow down and genuinely switch off.
